Opening Strategy after the coronavirus lockdown
The following measures have been agreed as a opening plan with a purpose of limiting the number of people entering The Club to maintain a social distance between each other and provide protection to staff.
Admittance will be restricted to members only. No guests will be allowed. Lapsed members will also be declined entry and not allowed to renew until after such time that we lift the members only rule. A register of members admitted will be maintained.
No new member applications will be processed, including interviews.
Card payments are preferred and encouraged but allowances made for members who have to use cash.
Move some tables & chairs from lounge into the dance hall to increase space in the lounge and provide an overflow area in the dance hall.
Take some chairs away to avoid pinch points. (the narrow part towards the kitchen).
Tape off some fixed seating to maintain a 2m gap.
All indoor customers must remain seated and away from the bar. Unfortunately snooker, pool or darts cannot be played.
No functions. Meat raffle, music or quiz nights. No league darts, snooker or crib.
No meetings (Gardeners Society/Link)
Maintain hand sanitising point in foyer and add one for snooker.
Do our best to maintain a 2m distance between members (unless from the same household or support bubble) with the use of signage.
The group limit outside is 6 people.
Only one staff on duty behind the bar. Safety screens will be fixed to the bar.
There will be marked serving points at the bar. Please do not approach the bar to be served until a serving point is free. Please move away from the bar once you have been served.
We will keep some doors open to minimise surface touching. (Shut at COP)
Members should be asked to bring back their glasses to the bar. This avoids staff touching the mouth contact part of the glass and also coming into close contact with members.
Using a 4 sq m formula the maximum capacity for each area of the club is:
Lounge north end – 19, Function Hall – 16, Lounge TV end – 7, Snug – 4 , Darts Rm – 11, Snooker Rm – 0. The fruit machines will be moved to the function room players will need to be seated on a bar stool to play. Total Capacity = 62.
However, these capacities do not allow for people from one household or support bubble sitting together. From 4th July two households may meet up but still socially distance.
A Duty Committee Member will be appointed for each open session to ensure that the Club's agreed opening plan is adhered to.
We will rely on the good will and co-operation of members to comply with this plan to ensure everyone's safety. Failure to do so may result in a refusal of service and council enforcement on the Club.
